The Cavemen have succeeded in bringing Highlife music back to the fore

Nigerian Highlife musical band, The Cavemen have shared their official video for 'Selense' a few days ago.

The video is a fusion of elements of modern and classic rhythms. Throughout most of the video, it could be seen how the singers tried to reflect on the 70s and 80s with both the tune and the visuals.

With this video, The Cavemen have succeeded in bringing Highlife music back to the fore and fill the vacuum for contemporary Highlife music with the classical Highlife Fusion style of music.

It's a big attraction for people who loved and still love highlife music. But the visuals also transports viewers to these days look and feel of the music videos.

The highlife duo, consisting of two siblings, Kingsley Okorie, a bassist, and Benjamin James, a drummer, made it appear like its a performance on MTA, thereby slyly drawing attention to the first television station in Nigeria.

Directed by ace Nigerian cinematographer Clarence Peters, he brilliantly gave a feel of the 80s, experimenting with all the needed props to reenact the golden days of highlife music in Nigeria.
