Rema narrates how Miami-based FRXBES let him creatively input.

Perfectly arranged in a dark, deliberately-big hoodie on Cool FM’s Midday Oasis last Monday, Rema shares more of his stunning debut run story and new song, Beamer. ”For beamer, it was the next level sound. the beat was quite complex cause its not a usual bounce out here in Nigeria and it isn’t Afrobeats as well.” Beamer is his first single and music video of the year "Beamer (Bad Boys)." Produced by Rvssian & directed by FRXBES, the crisp music video features several love relationship and a flashy BMW appearance.

But the 19-year old Mavin superstar understands his crucial position in today’s music even though its been barely a year since his introduction just months ago. Why? Potentially because his rise to the top, alongside Fireboy DML & Joeboy, consciously leads the popular culture of a new generation  of Lagos teenagers and youths. Rema’s gift for expression of the African music message and ambience in several genres especially the original west-african afro-pop and American hip-hop.

According to Rema, Miami-based director & photographer FXRBES reached out to his team while he was in the states and offered to shoot the song when he heard it and the magic was created. “The director is a very great guy, FRXBES. He liked the song and he said he’d like to shoot the video for me for free.” He goes on. “He listened to me. He let me share the input and create the vision I had in. Ind when I was making the song”.
