Another massive win for Africa and Africans, South African DJ and music producer Nkonsinathi Maphumulo, well known as DJ Black Coffee became the first African DJ to win Grammy Awards.
At the 64th Grammy's, he won “Best Dance/Electronic Awards” for his album “Subconsciously”, he's also the first African to win in this category.
The artiste was all emotional while giving his victory speech at the 64th Annual Grammys, he gave thanks to God and appreciated his fans, family, and friends.
“I WANT TO THANK GOD FOR THE GIFT OF MUSIC AND BEING ABLE TO SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD AND HEAL SOULS AND HELP PEOPLE GO THROUGH WHATEVER THEY’RE GOING THROUGH IN LIFE,” He spoke.
“I WANT TO THANK MY FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW WHAT I DO, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BELIEVING IN ME. I WANT TO THANK MY FAMILY AND MY CHILDREN.”
Black coffee is not the only African artist to win at the Grammys last night, Legendary Angelique Kidjo also won the “Global Music Award” category.
