Nigeria now has two medals in the bag in the ongoing Olympics. Blessing Oborududu has won a silver medal despite losing 4-1 to America's Tamyra Stock Mensah.
Oborududu's win in the women's freestyle 62-kilogramme event matches her second-place finish earlier this year at Warsaw, Poland and is an improvement on the 2020 3rd place finish in Rome.
The 32-year-old Nigerian is a five-time African champion, winning gold at the continental championships between 2017 and 2020.
