Nigerian record producer, has clarified why he believes that there's no formula for making hit songs.

He was answering questions as a guest on Sunday Scoop.

John referred to the likes of Olamide, Kizz Daniel, Flavour, and Davido, as examples. He had worked in the past with these artists, and could confidently assert that there's truly no formula for making hit songs.

“There is no particular formula for making a hit song. One just has to let it flow. One should understand the working conditions suitable for one and let it flow. No pressure.”

Some of the songs produced by the beatmaker include Olamide’s “Story for the Gods”, Kizz Daniel’s “Mama”, Flavour’s “Lose Guard” and Davido’s “Biggest Backside.”

Young John also emphasized that good music days are not over, as some people may believe.

“I don’t think the days of good music are gone. As a matter of fact, I think we have better songs now, and it is slowly evolving to become much better. The African music scene keeps getting bigger and better.”

The beatmaker also stated that he has been able to stay relevant because he is never satisfied, and he always wants to do more.

He thanked the Almighty for being where he is today.

Most importantly, God has been good to me, because it is not just one’s effort that counts. I feel blessed.”

Before he ended his remarks, he announced a new project: “Love is Not Enough Vol 1."
