The talented Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, Wizkid, has revealed why he loves to support and uplift younger African acts.

The music superstar was answering questions from Rolling Stone about his art, family life, and finding balance.

He also highlighted why he enjoys using his platform to support other African performers.

The interview was shared earlier this week.

Wizkid stated that raising other young African artists is a part of who he is as a member of society.

The music superstar has been well known for always providing his platform to other African performers.

According to Notjustok, the musician has always had younger African artists open for him throughout his concerts. He had a large number of them join him on stage during his O2 Arena concert in 2019.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Big Wiz was questioned why he enjoys utilizing his platform to boost newer African performers and if he views it as a responsibility.

Wizkid replied saying: "Yeah. It is part of me, man. That’s me. I’m Nigerian. I’m African. I ride for that. And I live here. I grew up there. That’s me. So it’s only right for me to always make amazing music with my friends, people that I grew up with, and, like… if the world can pay attention to one artist from Africa, why can’t they pay attention to all? That’s the mentality I’ve got."

As part of his allegiance to younger artists, he has raised Tems profile in music. She entered the Billboard Hot 100 at a very tender time in her career, thanks to big brother Wizzy.
