'Made In Lagos' and the hit song 'Essence.' have impacted people's lives across continents

 

AFRIMMA CEO, Anderson Obiagwu and Wizkid's Manager, Jada P took to their social media platforms to react to Wizkid's loss at the 64th edition of the Grammy awards.

AFRIMMA CEO highlighted the fact that even though Western validation is a welcomed development; it is not something African music can necessarily be judged on.

He also said that African music is developing at an exponential rate and its impact can not be denied and it is also up to Africans to lift up the sound and the brand.

On her part, Jada P, Wizkid's Manager mentioned the recording academy and showed how much and how well 'Made In Lagos' and the hit song 'Essence.' have impacted people's lives across continents.

Wizkid lost the two categories he was nominated for at the 64th edition of the Grammy Awards held on Sunday, April 4, 2022. The Recording Academy nominated him for the Best World Performance, which was won by Arooj Aftab and Best World Album to Angelique Kidjo.
