Fireboy DML Hits 10m on Spotify Monthly Listeners

Fireboy’s 'Peru' remix also hit top spot on Shazam UK chart recently

Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Fireboy DML, has reached 10 million monthly Spotify listeners, thanks in large part to his latest song, Peru remix.

The singer shared the news online during the weekend.

Fireboy is not the highest when it comes to that, as CKay leads all Nigerian artists with 28 million monthly streams.

The rule by Wizkid and Tems came to an end as CKay rose to the top of the list among Nigerian singers. At the present time, while Fireboy has 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Wizkid has seven million monthly listeners, and Tems has five million monthly listeners.

Recall, Last month, Fireboy released a remix of his recent big single, Peru, with British artist Ed Sheeran.

Fireboy’s 'Peru' remix also hit top spot on Shazam UK chart recently, as the addition of the international superstar to the song heightened its appeal, and the video received over 10 million views on YouTube shortly after its release.

Among other accomplishments, the song delivered Fireboy his first UK Top 10 entry. 'Peru' is now at the top of the UK Apple Music rankings.

Fireboy has now become one of the few Nigerian artists to have hit 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Last year CKay’s big hit, Love Nwantiti, amassed over 30 million monthly listeners on the app. At the present time, he has 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify - the highest for any Nigerian artist.
