Shatta Wale Praises Nigerian Music, Condemns Ghanaian Music

The reason for Wale's comments had to do with on streaming numbers

Over the weekend, Ghana's Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale revealed his opinion on Nigerian and Ghanaian music on his social media platform.

Popularly known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., Shatta Wale took to his social media to highlight how the two styles of music vary from one another.

He made a lengthy post (for Twitter) on his Twitter handle analyzing in his own words how Nigerian music surpasses Ghanaian music for him as an artist.

In his post, he referred to the ability of Nigerian musicians to showcase top talent. For that, and as an artist, Wale said he gives kudos to Nigerian music. He also implied that others should do the same.

The reason for Wale's comments had to do with streaming numbers, which shows just how big Nigerian artists are in Africa. Ghanaian musicians just don't come close.

Apart from streaming numbers, Nigerian songs of late have been breaking international barriers, like their debut on world-acclaimed charts such as the Billboard.
