Wizkid Replaces Burna Boy as Cover of Apple Music’s African Category

Burna Boy has been the cover of Apple Music’s African category for over a year

On the first day of November 2021, Apple Music changed its cover for Apple Music’s African Category.

For last year, through till this year, Burna Boy had been the cover. He is now replaced by his fellow singer and friend Wizkid, who just announced an upcoming album.

Burna Boy has been the cover of Apple Music’s African category for over a year now and Wizkid has been selected as the next artist to fill that slot after a truly amazing year.

Also, the singer is in line for possible nominations at next year’s Grammy.

According to Apple Music, "From Afrobeats to amapiano, or gqom to Afrosoul, the sounds of Africa have captured the hearts of music fans everywhere. It’s a charm that’s expanded into other areas of pop culture, moving from speaker to screen as soundtracks from modern Afro-centric films—like Black Panther and revivals of Coming to America and The Lion King—highlight the artists propelling their cultures forward.

"Africa to the World celebrates the hottest artists from across the continent, featuring standout hits from superstars like Nasty C, Davido and Omah Lay, alongside mega pairings with the world's biggest stars—from Tiwa Savage and Sam Smith, and Burna Boy and Chris Martin, to Wizkid and Drake, and Black Coffee and David Guetta."

This year, Wizkid helps to project that message to the world more than anyone.
