Wizkid's 'Essence' Debuts on Billboard at #82

The song is on number 17 on Apple Music USA Chart

‘Essence’, Wizkid’s song with Tems has debuted at no 82 on Billboards Hot 100 chart.

Reports say Billboard broke the news in a tweet on Monday.

Hot 100 rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States.

The tweet also mentions that it earns Tems her first career entry on the chart.

‘Essence’ is one of the tracks of ‘Made In Lagos’, Wizkid’s last studio album released in October last year.

The song is on number 17 on Apple Music USA Chart, and on number 14 on the same chart for Nigeria.

The 14-track album features global heavyweights like Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, and Ella Mai alongside Burna Boy.

Wizkid becomes the first Nigerian hitmaker to score a Billboard Hot 100 entry, the song being the first Nigerian music to get there. But this is Wizkid's third appearance on the chart.

'Essence' has made it to former US President Barrack Obama‘s Best Songs of 2020 and “Ginger” featuring Burna Boy was number 150 on the US Top 200 Apple Music list, Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid‘s latest album “Made In Lagos” has topped charts and is still topping charts since its release on the 30th of October 2020.
