Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” Album Breaks Apple Record

After three years of release, Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” album is still breaking records and setting a global pace for commercial Afrobeats success.

Grammy award-winning Nigerian Afrobeat singer Wizkid certainly has a classic in “Made In Lagos” as the album becomes the first ever album to spend 100 weeks in the Nigeria Apple albums chart Top 10.

A notable music platform called “Album Talks” announced this massive feat in a tweet on the 13th Of April.

The fourteen-track album is no doubt one of the most successful commercial albums by an Afrobeat artist, with over 3 billion streams on Spotify, multiple Grammy nominations, and different certifications.

The album was released 29th Of October 2020, featuring music heavyweights like Jamaican dance hall artist Damian Marley, Afrobeat genius Burna Boy, British rapper Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, and other artists.

However, the record-shattering album serves as Wizkid’s 4th studio album, and the album has received certifications in different parts of the globe, including Gold certification in Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Wizkid immediately followed the album up with another successful deluxe version of the album which was released on the 27th Of August 2021, adding four more tracks, including a collaboration with Justin Bieber, the deluxe album received two Headies nominations.

The serial hitmaker hit the music world with another body of work “More Love Less Ego” which he released on November 11th, 2022, making it his third body of work in the space of three years.
