Ghanaian Artist Camidoh Speaks About Career, Music, And Relationship With Patoranking

Ghanaian artists keep spreading their wings across West Africa, due to the success of their sound.

Camidoh, A Ghanaian melodious Afrobeat singer, stepped into the Coolfm studio for the first time to join Do2dtun and Eve on the Midday Show.

 

Camidoh, who is the genius behind the hit single “Sugar Cane” featuring his fellow Ghanaian King Promise and Nigerian singer Mayorkun, was on the Midday Show, and it was an interesting time, as the artist explains the inspiration behind his name, Camidoh is the artist's nickname, his mum and her best friend coined that name.

 

“Are you Ghanaian or Nigerian?” Do2dtun asked.

 

“100 percent a Ghanaian, but lots of Ghanaians didn't even think I'm Ghanaian” he explains the misconception he gets from people and that's because of his style of music and how he blends well, and the smoothness that comes with his melody had people calling him Nigerian.

 

Camidoh also revealed the relationship between himself and Patoranking, how the Nigerian artist has been a big support to his music, and also inspired him to visit Lagos,.

 

“Patoranking is a great guy and I want to say a big shout out to him”, the artist met patoranking in Ghana back in 2019 and since then they have been close.

 

He, however, revealed Patoranking linked him up with the producer of “Sugar cane” Phantom and also Mayorkun.

 

A lot of conversations about his plans and life in Lagos, what he likes in Lagos, and how he draws inspiration from some of the Nigerian biggest stars, like Wizkid and Davido.
