Fast Nigerian talented Afrobeats singer and songwriter Ayra start is the newest #UpNow cover artist on global streaming app AudioMack.
It’s no surprise the Mavin Records artist arises as the winner of this Audiomack program, Ayra Starr is one of the most-streamed artists on this platform, amassing over 85 million streams on the app.
Her big and soothing vocals have been one of the most catchy expansions of her career and the identity of “Gen Z” she has created for herself. Following her signing to Mavin Records after releasing a few singles, the artist immediately released a whole body of work “19 & Dangerous” which was one of the biggest projects in 2021.
AudioMack launched this program “UpNow” in 2020 as a plan to help promote and discover new fascinating music talent across the globe. The outfit has dedicated time to carefully selecting the fewest of three artists across different genres of music to enable them to enjoy top commercial music benefits. Custom videos, playlisting, editorial programming, experiential events, and specialized marketing.
Ayra Starr explains the relevance and contribution of AudioMack to her fast-rising career and how elated she is to receive such an honor.
“It’s so nice, it’s amazing, [and] I’m grateful for the honor. On Audiomack you can see comments, and not a lot of streaming platforms allow that. I remember my first EP. It was a way of knowing who my fans were, and just genuinely seeing their reactions to the EP and to the album. I said once before that if my fans want to say something to me, it’s on Audiomack they can say it because they know I’m going to see it. Audiomack allows that engagement with fans and it’s just the most amazing thing, being able to hear them speak to me directly.”
AudioMack is one of the biggest streaming platforms across Africa and the Globe, with over 20 million monthly users globally. The app was launched in 2012.
The Vice President of marketing and brand strategy of Audiomack Jason Johnson said the following:
“We have been a fan of Ayra Starr ever since we first heard her music. It has been so amazing to watch her growth from her very first Audiomack upload. We look forward to continuing to work with her and Mavin to help create more opportunities to connect with her core fans, expand her fan base, and get her music heard globally.”
However, Johnson confirmed that $3,000 will be donated to “the destiny trust” a charity foundation in Nigeria on behalf of Ayra Starr.
